TIP 1: Where to Oil
The general rule of thumb here is: anywhere you have something rotating — like a tire, an axle, an armature, or anywhere there’s rotation — you’re going to have a friction point. Use a small amount of oil on all friction points.
TIP 2: Where to Minimize Oil
Don’t over saturate the bushing. The reason for that is because right on the other side of the bushing is the commutator for the motor, and you don’t want to get a bunch of oil on that, otherwise you’ll kill the performance of the motor.
TIP 3: What Oil To Use
We use a Teflon-filled oil. It’s pretty thick, not super thin, but we like it because it has Teflon in it, so it’s super slick. Checkout what we have in stock below.
