About SCDRL

The SCDRL was founded with one goal in mind: to be the highest-caliber drag racing league in the country. Built and backed by Viper, our two-lane drag strip is smooth and incredibly fast. With an accurate Trackmate timing system, each race yields detailed results, with metrics such as speed, time, and split-time measured in thousandths.

Hosted at the Viper Scale Racing HQ and exclusively broadcast online, the Slot Car Drag Racing League puts your cars head-to-head in proxy race tournaments to determine who is truly the fastest. Anyone can send in a car to race, and with storage options available here at Viper, your cars can be ready to race in a moment’s notice.

How It Works

Send Your Car

The SCDRL is all about racing YOUR cars against others. Check out the Race entry listing, fill out the entry form and pay. Now, pack your car(s) in a small box, and then ship them to us at the Viper HQ.

Watch Online

Every SCDRL Tournament is exclusively broadcast online in the Facebook group and on Youtube. Tune in to see your cars go head-to-head with the fastest HO slot cars. Check back often in the group for updated race schedules.

Win Cool Prizes

The winning cars deserve a little more than just bragging rights: they also earn awesome prizes. From hop-ups to merch, small prizes to big prizes, what you earn comes down to how well your car performs.

On-Site Storage

Don’t want to pay for shipping your cars back and forth for each race? Store them in our climate-controlled facility here at the Viper HQ! With low monthly rates and maintenance options, your slot cars will be kept safe and ready to race.

Next Upcoming Race

The 2026 SCDRL Spring Nationals race will be held on Friday, April 17th. PLEASE be sure to register and send your cars BEFORE the deadline!

Registration Deadline: Wednesday April 8th

Cars Must Arrive by: Friday April 10th

PLEASE Wait until after the race to Pay for return shipping or vehicle storage.

Register Your Car

Each vehicle will need to be registered in order to race. Click the button below to fill out the vehicle information and pay for registration fees. If a car hasn’t raced in SCDRL before, select the “New Vehicle” option. If it has raced in SCDRL, select the “Repeat Vehicle” option.

We offer low-cost storage options to keep your car(s) here after racing so that you can race again in the future without paying for shipping each time. But, if you’d prefer to have it sent back, return shipping is available starting at a flat-rate of $5.95 (Contiguous U.S. only).

Top Eliminator (T/E) Racing

The Top Eliminator (T/E) class is designed to be the ultimate class for all slot car enthusiasts. This class allows you run any car, any way you like it. Cars entered in T/E will get 2 seeding passes. We will take the quicker of the two passes to determine your index bracket. The goal here is to run as low in your index bracket as possible without breaking out into the next lower bracket. SCDRL will randomly draw pairings, so you could end up with a .400 second car racing against a 3.00 second car. Talk about a head start! Now let’s go have some fun!

Pro Index (P/I) Racing

Think your car is really fast? Pro Index is for you. This class is reserved for the quickest and highest performing slot cars, with indexes as low as 0.300 seconds and the slowest at 0.450! Similar to Top Eliminator, cars entered in P/I will get 2 seeding passes. We will take the quicker of the two passes to determine your index bracket. The goal here is still to run as low in your index bracket as possible without breaking out into the next lower bracket. To make things even more competitive, indexes are now set at .050 intervals. May the most consistent car win! Please note cars that run slower than 0.450 will automatically have their index set at 0.450

Top Fuel Racing

Anything can happen! Top Fuel racing is heads-up racing divided into vehicle classes. Each car will get two (2) qualifying runs, and then the elimination ladder will be set accordingly. Because there are no restrictions for how fast your car can be, anything can truly happen here: cars break, tires fly, and hearts are broken. Races are split into four classes: Top Fuel 3-Gear, Top Fuel 4-Gear, Top Fuel Hard Body, and Top Fuel Unlimited. Be sure to check out the records page to see the fastest times!

About the Track

SCDRL races are run on a scale 1000′ two-lane routed drag strip measuring 15.5 feet (4.7 meters) from start to finish. Unlike kit tracks that have bumpy “click together” sections, our Sintra drag strip is precision-built with a smooth surface the whole way down, with no bumps or gaps between track pieces. And, with a professional timing system by Trackmate, each race yields accurate results, so it all comes down to how well your car is capable of performing.
